Information Marketing is one of the most lucrative ways to make money online.  The internet, being the source of most of today’s information, is the natural habitat for marketing or selling information.

A lot of internet marketers have developed this into both art and science.  There are 2 ends of the spectrum here, and one in the middle.  One is the creator of the information product, and the other is the marketer or the one without the product, but promotes it and gets paid a commission for every sale.  The guy in the middle is the “network” where all these information products are “consigned,” so to speak.

Perhaps the most popular “network” for sources of these information products is Clickbank.  It’s fairly easy to sign up with Clickbank to become an affiliate marketer or what they refer to as a publisher (because you, the internet marketer, are the one who publishes the offer online).

Information products abound, and you can pick a niche that you’d like to specialize in and put the work on, or you can take a shotgun approach to test out some offers and see which one you’d like to stick with and go deeper into.  Niches range from dog training to how to get ripped abs.  Clickbank products usually have very long sales letters on the offer’s landing page but they’re very, very effective.

So as a publisher, you choose which product you’d like to market and go from there.  To be profitable is a different story and a whole course in itself.  But that’s the general idea.

The product creator, product owner, or someone who is referred to as the advertiser, is usually the one who develops the product and the sales letter.  The product itself doesn’t have to be his own creation… it can be a product of a collaboration of individuals not necessarily involving himself as a contributor of content.  He could be just a really savvy guy who can put people together to have them create something he can own and sell through affiliate marketers.

Still, both sides are considered internet marketers.  There are quite a number of both popular and “under the radar” or “underground” marketers who are in the multiple 7-figure and 8-figure a year income earners doing something our fathers would have never thought you could do… from home.
