Help for Japan
I have been so moved by the tragedy that struck Japan in the last week that I’m thinking of ways to help. And I believe, I’m not the only one. Having a deadly earthquake, killer tsunami, and the threat of a nuclear meltdown happen all within the same week is just too much for even the mightiest of nations to handle.
However, in this economy, it’s not easy to give to strangers. They’re human beings too and we know we have to do something but we’re either too busy or don’t have the resources to help.
So I’m thinking of offering up this deal:
If you refer me a client who signs up for my services, I will donate 50% of the first year’s revenues from that client to Japan or the Red Cross in your name and the client’s name.

Recommended WordPress Plugins
I’ve been asked by not just a few people about which WordPress Plugins I use and would recommend. And usually, I just mention it casually and start spouting off a list from the top of my head. Not a good way to do it since I can’t remember every one of them.
I sincerely want to give value when my opinion is asked. So here’s a list of WordPress Plugins I use and highly recommend:
Akismet – protects your blog from comment spam.
All in One SEO Pack – pretty self-explanatory out-of-the-box SEO for your WP blog.
Datafeedr Random Ads – lets you rotate banner ads.
Exclude Page from Navigation – lets you create “private pages” without need for reader to login.
Google Analyticator – logs your blog’s performance so you can track it and optimize.
Google XML Sitemaps – generates a special XML sitemap so search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing can better index your blog.
MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer – saves your blog from getting tagged as a ping spammer.
Permalinks Moved Permanently – helps find the missing permalinks in your blog, using the slug.
Redirection – manage your 301 redirects and monitor 404 errors.
Sexybookmarks (by Shareaholic) – adds nice sharing icons for your blog’s posts.
Sociable – this is popular with internet marketers and stays quietly out of the way. I prefer Sexybookmarks though.
Wordpress Database Backup – On-demand back up for your WordPress db.
WPtouch – formats your blog with a mobile theme for visitors on touch-based smartphones like the iPhone, iPod Touch, Google Android, Blackberry Storm and Torch, Palm Pre, and others.
